2013 has seen SFEDI Awards take its first steps into expanding our reach into Scotland with our success as becoming a regulated Awarding Organisation with the Scottish Qualifications Authority in January 2013 and our first qualification having now achieved its first successful completions with more expected in the New Year.

We also saw numerous successes within our delivery network:
* Patchwork People won both the Community Award at the Best New Business Awards – Tees Valley and the RBS Social Enterprise Trailblazing Newcomer 2013 Award
* The following organisations and individuals were recognised at the SFEDI and IOEE Awards at the House of Commons event:
+ Results Consortium winning the Enterprise Learning Provider Award
+ PRIME winning the Enterprise Educator Award
+ Andrew Sale, The Sheffield College, winning the Enterprise Influencer Awards
+ Alicia Nang, The Sheffield College, winning the Enterprising Learner Award

The year also saw new developments in Government policy with the launch of the Business is Great campaign, the Growing Your Business report by Lord Young and the Small Business: GREAT Ambition report aiming to set out how Government will support budding entrepreneurs to start up a business and those existing businesses to grow in a sustainable way.

And that’s not all, not only do SFEDI Awards products and services continue to support those who are business support professionals and also those who are unemployed and looking to start and grow their own business, we have also seen exciting developments with innovative delivery of the Enterprise Apprenticeship with South & City College Birmingham, pilots being run within the prison estate by The Manchester College and also new partnerships with DEFRA, the Environment Agency, Climate Change North East and Climate Change South East aiming to build a more resilient business community.

With all of these exciting developments and changes in the enterprise and enterprise support environment we have been working hard to ensure that you, our enthusiastic and dedicated partners, have the resources and products in order to meet both the needs of your customers and the wider market place. This saw the increase in the number of approved delivery network partners and also an increase by 352% in the number of your customers engaging with enterprise learning within 2013.

We hope you have a fantastic festive season and we thank you all for making 2013 so special for us. We look forward to working with you in 2014. Watch this space for some exciting announcements and developments from SFEDI Awards to take us forward into the New Year.
