The Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning in Schools (SSTLS) aims to provide learners with the knowledge and competence needed to support the teacher in the compulsory education sector, ie. pre-19 years.
The qualification provides learners with the opportunity to demonstrate their competence in a wide range of support roles. Many learners wish to enter the sector while some are already in an education environment, for example as volunteers, and are looking to progress to new roles or occupations and believe this qualification will allow them to progress to further occupations.
