Welcome to the latest e-newsletter from SFEDI Awards promoting the latest updates within the enterprise skills agenda to our network of approved delivery centres and those interested in keeping up to date with our activities.
Within this update you will find information relating to recent success for a group of dedicated business advisers, the SFEDI Awards Christmas dates for your diary and an update on the development of a new suite of Business and Enterprise Support qualifications.
November saw a specialist team of advisers presented with their certificates for achieving the SFEDI Awards Level 5 Certificate in Business Support.
The advisers, from Invest Sefton, achieved the qualification with the support of St Helier Development & Training Ltd.
Councillor Ian Maher (Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Tourism) commented, “I am delighted that the team has received this recognition which was the result of months of hard work combining the award requirements with their own case loads. Invest Sefton’s award can only help provide further assurance that the council is committed to providing the very best standards of support to Sefton businesses.”
The Level 5 Certificate in Business Support (QCF) focuses on the broad base of skills, knowledge and understanding needed by business advisers. It is specifically for those working in the business support sector that help entrepreneurs who are starting up and developing businesses to review their progress, action plan improvements, implement changes to their existing or prospective business and develop their business skills and knowledge.

Well, like us, we are sure you are starting to think about getting ready to enjoy the festivities that are just around the corner.
During the festive period SFEDI Awards will be closing its offices and we wanted to let you know the important dates for your diary.
The SFEDI Awards offices will close at 4pm Friday 20th December and reopen 9am Thursday 2nd January 2014.
The last day for posting certificates to our centres will be Thursday 19th December and will recommence Thursday 2nd January 2014. If you would like to have your certificates posted on Thursday 19th December, please ensure you claim these on the Registr8 system by close of play Wednesday 18th December.
You will of course still be able to access our Registr8 system in order to both register and claim certification for your customers during this period.
Recently we told you about changes to the SFEDI Awards Business and Enterprise Support suite of qualifications.
We are currently developing a suite of integrated products which will address how budding entrepreneurs now receive business support from advisers, mentors, coaches and educators.
Adding to our current business and enterprise suite of qualifications, these new and exciting products will provide our centre network with a portfolio of development opportunities to offer to your customers.
These new qualifications will be launching February 2014 but keep watching out here and on our website for further details as they become available.
